Community Resiliency

We help our community prepare for, prevent, and respond to challenges. Thanks to the incredible work of our community partners and the generosity of donors, we can help our community recover when disaster strikes. Together, we can address urgent needs today for a better tomorrow. Follow our Facebook page, United Way of Oconee County, to stay up to date on disaster preparedness tools and opportunities to help with disaster recovery.

Our Recent Work:

Cold Weather Drive 2025-26: As temperatures dropped, United Way of Oconee collected blankets, hats, and gloves to help keep all of our community members warm. We were able to share these with community partners, like Ms. Patsy (pictured below), and stock up some of the Blessings Boxes around Oconee County.

Ms. Patsy - Blankets, Hats, and Gloves for the Utica Area in Seneca
Patsy Davis received blankets, hats, and gloves to distribute in the Utica area in Seneca.

Food Pantry Drive 2025: In the wake of paused SNAP funding in November 2025, our office collected supplies for local organizations rising up to meet the increased need.

Hurricane Helene 2024: In October 2024, Hurricane Helene hit Oconee County, causing major damage and leaving many people without power for an extended amount of time. Thanks to our community partners and donors, we were able to provide supplies both to our community here and to the Western North Carolina area.
